Mrs H, using sunscreen

It's not unusual to visit a client and find they know something you don't. Mrs H had had a couple of quotes and one such company had shown her Sunsilk, a polyester fabric that was all the rage. I'd not used it before but, since it was a deal breaker, was happy to oblige. It looked really nice, I'd be interested to see if it's stood the test of time, as promised by the manufacturer.

Green awning with lights

I can't understand anyone buying a white framed awning with a green & white stripy cover, it just looks like the rubbish that you buy at DIY stores and from the Daily Mail catalogue.

Mrs S was an interior designer and wanted her awning to make a bold expression. Tucked away in a sheltered alcove, and installed above a timber deck, I think the idea was to have an outdoor eating area for those warm summer nights. I tried, unsuccessfully, to wangle an invitation to dinner!

Awnings

Welcome to my blog. My name's David Marsh and I own an awning manufacturing company. I've worked in the awning industry since I left school, working with my father Eric. Dad also worked in his father's awning company since he left school and so we've got a bit of a history in awnings.

My history in awnings stretches back in to the 1980s, well before the internet was around, but it's better late than never to start blogging. I hope you find this insightful, I can't promise it'll be enthralling through, not unless you've a vested interest in awnings :o)
