How to shade a triangular roof using flat awnings, thus enabling the roof windows to open freely, offering a circulation of cooling air. My most challenging job to date

Handford Wines
I made a costly error with the colour of lettering and re-touched the paintwork in-situ which was the correct way to go about it. The awning could've suffered damage if removed and returned to the workshop. I took a photo midway through the painting process, what you can't see is that it's 5am on a very hot day and I'm doing it on top of a high set of step ladders. 3hrs of very tense careful work!!!

The end of the recession?
I've been very bearish* during this recession, I have to be careful not to put a negative spin on my own business but, enquiries have been slow for nearly 18 months. Honesty's the best policy at all times, in my opinion. I was well positioned to survive the downturn, having prepared for it in the two years that preceded the 'credit crunch'. I've never borrowed and only speculate with my own money. Safety first and always save for a rainy day. It's been monsoon season for awnings, literally.
However, we've seen a 200% rise in enquiries in February 2010, compared to the same month last year. I'm encouraged and, although not bullish* quite yet, confidence is on the rise. Finally!
*Stock exchange speak for downward (bears) and upward (bulls) trends.

Thorntons
I've not mentioned my best customer (probably the best customer in the world..) yet. A large chunk of my time involves installing awnings around the country on Thornton's stores. We've estimated that we've done 480 or so, stretching back to the 1980s, and also have the task of making sure the first one installed is working as well as the last. It's a great contract and I'd hate to lose it, although we're led to believe that many attempts have been made by our competitors.
On this one occasion, I've even included a photo of myself up a ladder!
